We are very excited about the work we are going to be doing in Language Arts this year. We will be starting book clubs this week. We will be working closely with texts as we examine “How do authors use stories to give us insight into our own lives?” In addition, we will be exploring the basic plot structure of stories, and will look deeply into story elements such as character and setting. Beginning next week, we will begin to establish routines for book club meetings.
In Writing, we will begin to establish routines for Writer's Workshop and start generating ideas for small moments.
Finally, in Social Studies, we will begin our study of early man’s origins and migration patterns. Students will be shown a variety of maps, videos, and text that give support to various theories of how man came to live in the Americas.
