Student Led Conferences in the 5th grade

The Fifth-Grade is very excited to welcome all parents and students into our classrooms for student-led conferences on Thursday, October 16th and Friday, October 17th. Students will lead the conference. During the conference students will showcase their work from the 1st quarter, set goals for the rest of the semester, and reflect on their learning so far this school year.

Students and parents will visit both the math and science classroom and the language arts and social studies classroom. The conference will begin in your child’s homeroom classroom. In Mr. Ro and Mrs. Kriss’s classroom, students will visit a math and science station. In Ms. Kintzer and Ms. Pendse’s classroom, students will share their learning from language arts and social studies class. Portuguese stations will be available in every classroom. During the conference, students will be completing the student-led conference passport. These will be available to all students as they arrive into the classroom. There will be a box available at the door of each classroom for the passports to be turned in at the end of the conference.

During the conference, there will be more than one family in the classroom. Your child’s teacher will be circulating from station to station ready to assist and facilitate the conversation. Plan on spending about five minutes at each station and please remember to visit both your child’s math and science classroom as well as your child’s language arts and social studies classroom. After the classroom visit, we encourage parents and students to visit the art, music, and PE rooms. We kindly request that siblings color just outside of the classroom or play at the playground. Childcare will be provided at the Pre-Primary playground or Ballet room if it is raining.
